Jerry Wayne Pharis, 74, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.
Mr. Pharis was born October 14, 1944 to the late George Thomas and Ila Holbrook Pharis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Holbrook; sister, Pat Pharis Jordan and stepson, Joe Talbert. Jerry was formally employed at Rockwell Casket Company and retired from the ABC Store in Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm, located at St Martin Lutheran Church, 16592 St Martin Rd, Albemarle, officiated by Pastor Frederick Guy and Pastor Joey Hiatt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: wife, Gayle Talbert Pharis; daughters, Kim Pharis (Brian) Overcash, Angie Pharis (Chris) Timmons, Alyssa Pharis; stepson, Douglas (Beth) Talbert; grandchildren, Kirstie Beasley, Dalton Beasley, Lexie Timmons, Tyler Spurlock, Taylor Spurlock, step-grandchildren, Morgan and Will Talbert, Josie and Drew Talbert; great-grandson, Jace Beasley; nieces, Jan Coleman, Susie Allen, Brenda Wells and Linda Miller.
