Frances Ann Litaker Cox, 87, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle
Frances was born September 26, 1931 in Cabarrus County to the late Lewis and Effie Litaker. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Cox; and sister, Juanita Vanderburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Holt and Pastor Clinton Efird. Burial will follow at the Norview Gardens, located at 949 Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood.
Frances is survived by her sons, John Frank Cox and companion Grace of Rockwell, Gary Cox and wife Angela of Richfield; grandchildren, Diane Barrier and husband Mike, Eric Cox, Ashley Cox, Maegan Cox, Samuel Cox and wife Megan, and Caleb Cox and wife Sara; great-grandchildren, Justin and Holly Barrier, Andrea Gardner, Jacob Campbell, Dominica Cox, and Eric Cox, Jr., Gage and Emerson Shue, Skylar Johnson, Sam Cox, Jr., Gabe Cox, Kaitlyn Cox; great-great grandchildren, Mya Lawton, and Mason Smith; brother, Johnny Litaker and wife Elaine of Charlotte; special niece, Cathy Chilton of Lexington; and other nieces and nephews.
Frances was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her church, listening to gospel music, and cooking. The family would like to thank the staff of Stanly Manor and Hospice of Cabarrus County for their loving care.
