Margaret Sellars Baucom Tyson, 86, of Oakboro, passed away peacefully Friday, December 14, 2018 in her home.
Her funeral service will be 4 PM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Oakboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Waits, Rev. Terrell Watts, and Chip Alsobrooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 4 PM prior to the service.
Born August 11, 1932 in Anson Co., NC, she was the daughter of the late Hardy Franklin Sellars Jr. and Dixie Mae Lentz Sellars and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Oakboro First Baptist Church and was a loving caregiver to all the babies in the church nursery for 55 years. She loved gardening and crafts.
Mrs. Tyson was preceded in death by her first husband Alfred A. Baucom and her second husband Baxter J. Tyson.
She is survived by a son Rick Baucom (Shannon) of Oakboro, three daughters Donna Coble (Kenny) of Mars Hill, Telia Baucom of Oakboro and Jane Baucom of Marshville, 5 grandchildren Jessica Colquitt (Brandon), Brian Baucom, Krystal Eury (Jeff), Derek Baucom, and Shayna Johnson (Andrew), and 4 great-grandchildren Chase Baucom, and Lanee, Emerson and Collins Eury.
