Jo Nell Rowland, 75, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Rowland was born January 12, 1943 in Rowan County to the late Joe Walker Simmons and the late Ida Janell Anthony Simmons. She was also preceded in death by husband, William Gaston Rowland.
Jo worked in textiles for much of her life at many of the various sewing companies until the decline of textiles. She retired from the Howell Center Clear Creek in 2010.
Her first and biggest love was a full house surrounded by all her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed bingo which she missed very much after the beginning of her illness.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1:00PM at Salem United Methodist Church, 20987 NC 73 Hwy, Albemarle officiated by Rev. Steve Combs and Rev. Jeane Torrance. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church hut following the burial. At other times, the family will receive at the home.
Survivors include son, Timothy (Cynthia) Wyatt and a daughter Pamela (James) Furr, both of Albemarle; five grandchildren, Wayne, Jamie, Joseph, Marty, and Rebekah; three great grandchildren, Hayley, Ethan, and Oren; and four step-great grandchildren, Matthew, Penelope, Roman, and Felicity.
