Residents are invited to attend Monday’s announcement about plans to build an overlook deck at the summit of Morrow Mountain.

Plans call for the construction of a 1,000 square-foot deck so visitors can better appreciate the majestical view of Morrow Mountain and surrounding Uwharrie National Forest. The project comes courtesy of a financial gift from the late Tom Rabe Jr. and family.

In memory of his grandfather, Rabe made a generous donation to the Friends of Morrow Mountain.

Unveiling of the plans will be 11 a.m. in the Morrow Mountain lodge, beside the park’s main office.
