Kathy Almond Column: Giving thanks
Published 11:34 pm Friday, November 2, 2018
There is no greater feeling than that of giving back and sharing gratitude for all that we are given.
Stanly Thanks~GIVING is a time to give back to our local Stanly County community.
Once again Stanly County Chamber of Commerce (SCCoC) will partner with CHS Stanly (Atrium Health) to bring the community together in support of Stanly Community Christian Ministry.
As a long time member of the local community, Stanly Community Christian Ministry provides services including food and shelter to those who are in need.
SCCoC and Atrium Health are hosting Stanly Thanks~GIVING at 12 p.m. Nov. 14 in the CHS Stanly Magnolia Room at the hospital events center.
Tickets are $25 per person and available online at stanlychamber.org/2018/08/stanly-thanksgiving-wed-nov-14-atrium/ .
Of each ticket sold, $10 will go directly to Stanly Community Christian Ministry to support its mission: “Answering the call to share Christ’s love, Stanly Community Christian Ministry provides assistance and support to our neighbors in need.”
Both cash and food donations will also be accepted at the Stanly Thanks~GIVING luncheon. Non-perishable foods can be brought the day of the event and will be given directly to Stanly Community Christian Ministry.
During this holiday season, SCCM Director Heather Kilde and her staff are forever grateful for the contributions received, which provide assistance and support to those in need.
SCCoC thanks our partners and sponsors: Atrium Health, First Bank and Uwharrie Bank for their generous support of Stanly Thanks~GIVING.
Your $25 ticket will include a full Thanksgiving luncheon buffet and an opportunity to hear of the great work that Stanly Community Christian Ministry does here in Stanly County.
Join us Nov. 14 at noon to “Give Back to Give Thanks” for all that we have.
