Wilton Springer, 93, of Albemarle, N.C., passed away Thursday October 11, 2018 at his home.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 in Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Howard and Rev. Jerry Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care.
Wilton was born July 20, 1925 in Stanly County, N.C. and was the son of the late Clarence “C.J.” Jack Springer and Florence Bessie Talbert Springer.
He was a retired employee of Stanly Fixtures and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Wilton was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII.
Mr. Springer is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdeline Morton Springer.
He is survived by eight sons, Skippy Springer of Albemarle, NC, Terry Springer of Albemarle, NC, Todd Springer of Norwood, NC, Rodney Springer of Albemarle, NC, David Springer of Albemarle, NC, Jeff Springer of Albemarle, NC, Ernie Springer of Norwood, NC and Chad Springer of Albemarle, NC; three daughters, Elaine Fowler of Albemarle, NC, Lynette Chandler of Albemarle, NC, and Jo Ann Snyder of Elmwood, NE; brother Roy Springer of Albemarle, NC; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Wilton was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Simpson, and sisters Ruby Springer Jordan, Goldie Lynette Springer Holt and Blanche Springer Vanhoy.
