Colson had three receptions for a total of 50 yards, including the touchdown.

“It was good to see Tori Colson come out and have a breakout game,“ said head coach Ryan Ochier. “He’s been struggling up to this point but finally had a game he could be proud of.”

Also picking up rushing yards were seniors Tyreke Watkins with 95, Marcus Green with 72, Tony Loftin with 25 and Rodney Hammond with 1.

“We finally had a game where we controlled the football,” Ochier said. “We won the turnover margin and that was one of our goals for the week.”

In addition to the offensive effort, Ochier was proud of his defense for holding North to no points. Junior Nate Kirby had two sacks in the contest.

“They couldn’t move the ball in the first half,” he said of North.

First half, out of 24 minutes we controlled the ball for 19 minutes.

Ochier said the team is hurting itself on penalties.

“We’re going to be working on that this week going in to West Montgomery,” he said.

West Montgomery (3-4) defeated Chatham Central (0-7) Friday night 82-48.
