Johnnie Ruth Hoffner Earnhardt, 83, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.
She was born on March 8, 1935 in Salisbury, NC to the late Lee Hoffner and Lena Owens Hoffner.

Johnnie worked as a Cafeteria Worker in Richfield until her retirement.
She was a Christian woman and enjoyed baking, cooking, word search puzzles, and taking care of her cats. She loved to spend time with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Earnhardt; and brothers and sisters, Velna Carrick, Jessie Burrage, Arlene Morgan, Blanch Gobble, Curtis “Bud” Hoffner, Annie Lee Hall, Mary Jane Ward, and Barbara Jean Brown.
Johnnie is survived by a son, Tim Earnhardt and wife Trica of Richfield; a daughter, Johnna Chandler and husband Howard of New London; three grandsons, Johnathan Chandler, Nick Chandler, Logan Chandler; a granddaughter, Caroline Chandler; a brother Ernest Hoffner of Salisbury; and sisters, Edna Mahaley of Kernersville; and Helen “Sis” Stiller of Salisbury.
The family will receive friends at Powles Staton Funeral Home on Wednesday September 26, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday September 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Salisbury National Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Mike Herring.
