Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church

Aug. 12, the message — “How Does It Work?” — was delivered by Larry Pittman. The sermon scriptures were from I Corinthians 15:35-49. The Old Testament reading was from Genesis 2:5-8.
Aug. 19, the message — “What Difference Does It Make?” — was presented by Pittman. The sermon scriptures were from I Corinthians 15:50-58. The Old Testament readings were from Job 14:14-22.
Thank you to everyone who donated or came out to help with the community yard sale held at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church on Aug. 11. Approximately $116 was raised for our church.
Homecoming is Sept. 9. Please spread the word to everyone and plan to join us for the service, food, and fellowship. There will be a covered dish meal following the morning service, with plenty of good home-cooked food .
Prayer meeting is now on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to join us in the fellowship hall.
The August food challenge for the Stanly Community Christian Ministry is canned or dried beans, canned tomatoes, and rice. They are also in need of canned fruit in juice, macaroni and cheese, canned meats and two pound bags of rice.

Oak Grove UMC
Oak Grove United Methodist Church is at 32056 Herrin Grove Road, Mt. Pleasant.
We are taking “Letters of encouragement” for the Tarheel Academy kids. They are ages 16-18. They are in the middle of their current session.

We are collecting items to donate to our local schools (pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks, etc.).
The congregation is asked to bring in canned food, toiletries and other necessities every week to donate to those that need it most in our community.
August SCCM food collection is boxed and canned pasta meals.
