A filing extension proved fruitful for the town of Richfield.

Three candidates used the extension to file for the two at-large seats for commissioner. Jake Long, Mary Shaver and Jason Ritter filed for the available seats on the Richfield Town Council. All three filed Wednesday, the last day of the five-day extension, according to the Board of Elections.

They join incumbent Mayor Terry R. Deese for Richfield in the nonpartisan municipal elections slated for November along with the other partisan races set for the general election.

Richfield was granted the extension after no one filed to run for town commissioner before last Friday’s noon deadline.
