Albert Reece Starnes, 86, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home.
His funeral service will be 3 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Lowell Brown officiating with Military Rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Albert was born June 25, 1931 in Stanly County, NC and was the son of the late Lawson David Starnes and Florence Dix Starnes.
Mr. Starnes retired from Collins & Aikman of Albemarle. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Starnes is survived by three daughters Donna Spikes of Jacksonville, FL, Cheryl Starnes Henty of Salisbury, NC and Denise Melton of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Kendra Glenn, Justin Jones, Jenna Cranford, Allie Melton and Jarrett Tran; five great-grandchildren, Lexi Glenn, Austin Glenn, Drake Jones, Mallory Jones and Atticus Melton.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Starnes family.
