On June 11, 2018, loving husband and honored father Austin Vondell Pate shook the bonds of this life and went to spend eternity with his loving Savior.
Austin was born November 16, 1932 in Pangburn, AR, and over his life enjoyed a long and rewarding career with Alcoa Inc. as an Industrial Electrician.
Austin enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, beach trips, and most of all Austin loved spending time with his family.
Austin leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years Betty Plowman Pate, children Lyndell (Cindy) Pate, Bettina Little, and Anthony (Kristi) Pate, and his most precious grandchildren Mitchell (Dana) Pate, Rebecca Pate, and Annika (Adam) Black.
The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care on Friday June 15 from 6 until 8 PM. A Celebration of Austin’s life will be held at 3 PM, on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle. Interment will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Austin’s name to Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, P.O. Box 338 Thomasville, NC 27361.
