Monday, February 11, 2013 —
The town of Red Cross met briefly Monday evening, with an amendment to their current budget as only item of new business.
Councilman Jerry Jordan said that the amendment will help the town balance their debt retirement.

County Commission hears Albemarle Task Force
Dr. Russ Sharples, a member of Albemarle’s Economic Development Task Force, appeared before the County Commission Monday night. Sharples’ purpose was to inform the Commission of the results of the task force’s findings and to urge collaboration between the Commission and Albemarle on economic development for the county.

Wingate University professor wins national award
Wingate, N.C. – Wingate University Assistant Professor of Religion, Heather McDivitt, has been selected as an Outstanding Advising Award Winner in the Faculty Academic Advising category from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). The award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students.
