W. Stanly wrestling wins at North

Sunday, February 7, 2010 — This past Thursday evening, the West Stanly wrestling squad earned a 42-34 Rocky River Conference victory on the road at North Stanly.

Matt Brattain of West Stanly got a pinfall win in a time of 3:46 over North’s Caleb Smith in the 112-pound category.

At 119 pounds, North Stanly’s Jacob Huneycutt earned a pinfall win in 3:53 over West’s Andrew Brattian.

The 135-pound matchup saw Zack Leggett of North pin Colt Andy Beatty in 3:09.

Kaleb Nash earned a pinfall win for the Comets with five seconds left in the second round over West’s Daniel Huneycutt in the 140-pound division.

North Stanly also got a victory at 145 pounds when Drew Beadle pinned Carson Hartis with just one second left in the second round.

West Stanly’s Brandon Foster gave the Colts a win at 152 pounds with a pinfall win in 3:11 over Ryan Jones.

Justin Neal also won for West with a 1:05 pinfall victory over North’s Patrick Harvell.

At 171 pounds, Patrick Willoughby pinned Comet Ethan Kuehl in 3:36.

Adam Tadlock also gave West a victory by pinfall when he pinned North’s Thomas Moore in 3:43 at 215 pounds.

The only matchup of the night that went the distance was in the heavyweight category when North Stanly’s Jake Tester earned a 15-5 majority decision over West Stanly’s Mario Bazinet.
