Albemarle native and country singing star Kellie Pickler will co-host the fourth
hour of “Today” beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.
Pickler will appear with host Hoda Kotb, as host Kathie
Lee Gifford is on vacation.
Pickler released her third album, “100 Proof,” on Jan. 24, which according to her website, kelliepickler.com, has received critical praise, withUSA Today saying the album is “a pretty fantastic country record.”
Tune in to catch Pickler as co-host on the “Today Show” which airs on NBC, Time Warner Cable Channel 6, or non cable channel 36.

Earlier this week the seniors at our school had one final hurdle to jump before graduation. They had to present their senior projects before panels of community members. Each room had four adults: the moderator and the three judges. You can be sure the students were quite nervous, but they usually do a great job. If they have practiced and prepared then they should experience success.

Wingate University professor wins national award
Wingate, N.C. – Wingate University Assistant Professor of Religion, Heather McDivitt, has been selected as an Outstanding Advising Award Winner in the Faculty Academic Advising category from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). The award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students.
