Thursday, February 7, 2013 — The town of Stanfield Commissioners rejected a resident's request to be paid for mowing a right of way at their meeting Thursday night.
Stanfield resident and property owner Rick Huggins sent an invoice into the town for mowing the side of the road or portions of the side of the road on at least three roads, Pleasant, Charlotte and Concord.
Commissioner Jason Smith said the invoice was turned into the town on December 19, with the town responding to the letter by rejecting to pay for any mowing services.
On behalf of Stanfield, the commissioners rejected any responsibility to pay Huggins, citing the invoice was for "services that had not been requested or agreed upon by both parties."
