Thursday, July 2, 2009 — Badin Police arrested a man recently who now faces several felony charges.
Titus Timothy McLen-don, 31, of 816 Roose-velt St., Badin, was arrested June 18. He faces charges of felony breaking and entering; felony larceny of a firearm; felony possession of a firearm by a felon; and felony failure to register as a sex offender.
According to the police report, McLendon “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously” broke into a residence on Roosevelt Street on June 4 “with the intent to commit a larceny.” The report further states that McLendon stole personal property from the residence totaling approximately $3,851.
Items stolen included a .38- caliber firearm and ammunition worth an estimated $600; a .22-caliber firearm and ammunition worth an estimated $250; nine pieces of jewelry and other precious metals worth an estimated $3,000; and a credit/debit card.
McLendon was taken to the Stanly County Jail where he was placed under a $10,000 bond.
This incident came just more than a year after McLendon was released from jail after serving time for pleading guilty on May 26, 2006 to attempted 2nd degree kidnapping of a minor.
“He was just released from prison a little more than a year ago,” Badin Police Chief Bryan Lambert said.
“It didn’t take him long to get back into hot water.”
McLendon has also previously served time for felony breaking and entering; and felony possession of stolen goods.
He also was previously placed on probation for charges of peeping tom/secretly peeping; resisting an officer; receiving stolen goods; misdemeanor breaking and entering; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
