Friday, December 14, 2012 —
Pfeiffer’s Jodie Lemons has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Player of the Week during week five of the 2012–2013 Basketball season.
Lemons put together a career week that included a new career-high in scoring while tying a school-record from behind the arc during a perfect 3-0 week for the Falcons.
The sophomore's week started with 13 points on 39% shooting from the floor in a big 84-58 win over regional foe Mars Hill.
Lemons would follow up Monday with a career-high 28 points on 47 percent shooting from the floor that included eight triples in her 12 attempts (67 percent) which tied a 24-year-old school record.
To cap off her career week, Lemons dropped 22 at Catawba, adding six more threes while shooting 60 percent from behind the arc in a thrilling 78-76 win over the Lady Indians. Lemons hit three triples in a two-minute span just past the midway point of the second half to help give Pfeiffer breathing room at Catawba.
For the week, Lemons averaged 21 points per game on 42 percent shooting from the field, 54 percent from long range, hitting 15 threes in the three-game stretch while pulling down a total of 19 rebounds, 14 of them offensive.
