Stanly County athletes earn All-Yadkin Valley Conference selections

Thursday, December 6, 2012 — The following athletes from schools in Stanly County were named to the All-Conference teams that were officially released this week from the Yadkin Valley Conference for the fall sports seasons.

Boys’ Cross-Country

Quinton Parsons (Gray Stone), Reid Huckabee (Gray Stone), Patrick Parsons (Gray Stone), Jake Long (Gray Stone), David Cowan (Gray Stone).

Runner of the Year Runner-Up:  Josh Rolan (Gray Stone)

Girls’ Cross-Country

  • Intimidators, GreenJackets postponed

    KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (June 11, 2013) -- Monday evening's game between the Kannapolis Intimidators and Augusta GreenJackets has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.  The teams will make up the game on Tuesday, June 11, as part of a doubleheader comprising two 7-inning games starting at 5 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

    GREENSBORO -- The Greensboro Grasshoppers edged the Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-3 (F/7), in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader at NewBridge Bank Park.  Kannapolis (23-38) comes away with a series split heading into the final home stand of the first half.
