Three first half goals was all host Barton College needed on Wednesday night picking up a 3-0 clean sheet over visiting Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action. The Bulldogs advance to 6-7-1 overall, 5-4 in league play while the Falcons drop to 0-13-2, 0-8-1.
Dante De Luca would tally the first of his two goals on the night in the 19th minute firing a one-timer inside the box for his 12th goal of the season. Later in the 36th minute, Archer Bane, who assisted on De Luca's first strike, scored his own goal for a 2-0 Bulldog lead. Barton would close scoring out in the 41st minute with De Luca's second of the night, 13th of the season.
Barton outshot the Falcons 19-12 overall, 9-5 in shots on goal. Kyle Toler and Kody Sprinkle each had a pair of shots for Pfeiffer in the loss. Cristian Padilla made six saves in net.
Pfeiffer will play non-conference matches in two of their final three games of 2012 beginning with UNC-Pembroke at home on Monday at 4 p.m.
