Albemarle boys' squad to face North Rowan for YVC Tournament title

Friday, February 22, 2013 —

The Albemarle boys' varsity basketball squad advanced to the championship finals of the 2013 Yadkin Valley Conference Tournament with a 78-45 win on Thursday night over North Moore.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 7 in the state in the latest NCpreps.com 1A state poll take on the No. 3-ranked North Rowan Cavaliers tonight at 7:30 p.m. at East Montgomery High School.

Albemarle will also host a home game in the opening round of the NCHSAA state 1A playoffs at 7 p.m. on Monday night. Their opponent has not been determined yet.

  • Intimidators, GreenJackets postponed

    KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (June 11, 2013) -- Monday evening's game between the Kannapolis Intimidators and Augusta GreenJackets has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.  The teams will make up the game on Tuesday, June 11, as part of a doubleheader comprising two 7-inning games starting at 5 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.
