Sunday, March 10, 2013 —
Because of the recent weather conditions, the West Stanly softball team took their home field Thursday and Friday after not having been able to practice on the field at all.
Despite that hinderance, the Colts won both of their games at home, shutting out Central Academy and getting a huge rally for a one-run win over Porter Ridge.
Thursday’s Game
West Stanly 10
Central Academy 0
The Colts got a strong effort on the mound from starter Savannah Blalock and hit the ball well in a 10-0 five-inning Rocky River Conference win over the Central Academy Cougars.
Friday's Game
West Stanly 10
Porter Ridge 9
Trailing 8-1, the West Stanly Colts staged a huge rally at home, scoring three runs in three straight innings for a 10-9 win over Porter Ridge.
