The opening round of the 2013 Rocky River Conference tournament for the boys’ basketball squads saw West Stanly take Forest Hills to the limit while a late surge led Piedmont to a win over North Stanly.

As the No. 5 seed going into the tournament, the Colts faced a Forest Hills squad they had lost to twice in the regular season by 15 and 16 points.
Tuesday’s game, played at Monroe High School, was substantially different as a late West rally fell just short in a one-point loss to the Yellow Jackets.
