Albemarle Football: 1A Western Regional Finals

Murphy beats Albemarle 27-24, advances to state finals

Friday, November 23, 2012 — The Albemarle Bulldogs hosted the Murphy Bulldogs on the gridiron tonight in the 1A Western Regional Finals.

Murphy jumped out to a lead and matched Albemarle score for score the rest of the game as the visiting Bulldogs earned a trip to the 1A state finals with a 27-24 win over Albemarle.

Deon Christian had a huge night for Albemarle (13-2), with 115 rushing yards and 131 passing yards, while Kevin McKinney had two rushing touchdowns.

Murphy (13-2) was led by Kenton Braswell with 213 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
