On Tuesday afternoon, Comet sophomore Zac Almond had a day at the plate he will likely not forget anytime soon.

As the Comets rolled past the Cardinals 13-1 in five innings, Almond went 2-4 at the plate, but he made the most of those at-bats.

In the third inning, Almond had a three-run home run, followed by a grand slam in the fifth inning, finishing the game with seven RBIs.

Seth Kimrey had a solid day for North as well, going 4-4 with a double and two RBIs.

North racked up 13 hits in the game earning the win on the road.

Matt Huneycutt allowed one earned run on three hits in five innings of work, with Chandler Musselwhite’s solo home run in the bottom of the first inning the only offense of the day for the Cardinals.
