Thursday, October 9, 2008 — Gray Stone improved to 12-5 overall and 10-5 in the conference with a 3-1 road win at West Stanly on Wednesday.
Lauren Singletary led the Gray Stone offense with 17 kills. Ashley Harrington followed her with 11 kills. Caitlyn Ferebee had 23 assists and eight aces.
Scores in the match were 25-23, 25-27, 25-17 and 25-17.
The Knights' JV team dropped two straight sets to the West Stanly JV squad. The scores were 23-25 and19-25. Gray Stone’s JV record is now 12-4.
Albemarle 3, CATA 0
The Bulldogs travelled to Union County on Wednesday night and swept the Cougars 3-0.
Mariah Lowder led the Bulldogs with nine kills and 12 digs. Tara Butler and Samantha Braunsberg had 13 digs each while Braunsberg added 20 aces.
Scores in the match were 25-12, 25-6 and 25-16.
The Bulldogs travel to Richfield tonight for a showdown with Gray Stone.
