The South Stanly softball team found out this afternoon which school they will be playing this week in the NCHSAA state 1A finals series. -

The West Stanly Colts evened their best-of-three West Regional Series with Madison, getting a two-run home run from Savannah Blalock and three unearned runs in a 6-3 win Friday night. -
New London man takes 2nd behind Lexington angler
Robert Walser of Lexington weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 13 ounces on May 12 to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Piedmont Division event on High Rock Lake. For his victory, Walser earned $6,156.
