Queens sweeps over the Falcons

Monday, October 29, 2012 — Hitting .333 as a team, Queens University rolled to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-13) victory over Pfeiffer  in women's volleyball action on Tuesday night.

The Royals improve to 17-10 overall, 11-1 in Conference Carolinas play while the Falcons fall to 7-16, 4-8.

Brittney Barren led Queens with 14 kills hitting .522 on the night. Taylor Riley assisted 24 times on the Royals 34 kills. Brianna Jones led Pfeiffer with nine kills on the night while Kelly Lancellot posted seven kills hitting .455.

Fighting for the fourth and final playoff spot in the league's eastern division, the Falcons will look to improve their standing this week on the road. Pfeiffer travels to Barton on Friday and Belmont Abbey on Saturday.

The Conference Carolina volleyball conference tournament will open Nov. 6 at the higher seed.
