The Pfeiffer men's and women's swim teams kicked off the home portion of their 2012-2013 season with a pair of victories over visiting King and Milligan Colleges on Friday night. The Pfeiffer men defeated Milligan 93-29 and King 101-17 while the Lady Falcons scored an 88-34 win over Milligan and 86-36 win over King.
Of the 27 events on Friday night, Pfeiffer would take the top spot in 24 of those events. The victories began quickly in the 200-yard medley relays as Kate Galichenko, Mary Rudolph, Daliya Spasova and Hannah Finkernagle won by more than six seconds in the women's heat while the men's team of Nick Insley, Matt Burns, George Moreno and Mark Franz edged out Miligan by just over two seconds.
Finkernagle and Grant Smith would grab the first individual wins of the night in the ensuing 1,000-yard freestyle as both won by more than 39 seconds over the second place finishers. Five Falcons would score at-least two individual wins on the night.

The South Stanly baseball team evened the 1A Western Regional Series with a 12-5 win at home over Hendersonville.
