Thursday, March 11, 2010 — West Stanly’s three-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night in a non-conference game at Ardrey Kell, the defending 4A state champions.
Trent Thornton earned the win on the mound for the Knights (3-2), while Dee Ingram took the loss for the Colts (3-1). Ingram suffered his first loss of the season on the mound, dropping his record this season to 1-1.
Ingram knocked out his second home run of the season for West Stanly.
The Colts led 2-0 after the top of the first inning but would give up two runs in the second and six in the third.
West Stanly hosts Charlotte Christian today at 4:30 p.m.

Falcons open season with 3-0 loss to Ball State
Fighting off late rallies by Pfeiffer University in sets two and three, visiting Ball State University was able to escape with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-23) sweep of the Falcons in the NCAA I Men’s Volleyball action on Saturday afternoon in Merner Gym.
