The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 12 of Albemarle honored mothers and wives of veterans at Spring Arbor of Albemarle at 2 p.m. Nov. 7. One mother was a Gold Star mom. A Gold Star mother is when a son or daughter is killed while serving on active duty during war time.
These ladies were entertained with a reading by Dianne Morgan, “The Best Is Yet To Come.” Then they were served drinks and homemade cake and were given a gift bag of hand soap and lotion. The social time was enjoyed by all.
