Great Clips stylist, Juliana Lindsay, made one of the biggest cuts of her life this week. The President and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), John Lauck, got his head shaved at CMNH headquarters to follow through on a bet he made with the corporate staff last year. He said he would shave his head if they exceeded their 2012 fundraising goal of approximately $290 million.
CMNH found out they surpassed their goal and raised a record-breaking $300 million. In a celebratory gesture, Mr. Lauck revealed the fundraising results to an unsuspecting staff and lived up to the promise made in January 2012. To commemorate this great accomplishment, Mr. Lauck had his locks shaved off courtesy of Great Clips.
“A shaved head is the least I can do to honor the hard work my team has put forth. I’m looking forward to our staff’s reaction. And a new look,” said John Lauck, President and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Great Clips has been a supporter of CMNH, raising approximately $500,000 in 2012 by selling the iconic Miracle Balloon, as well as hosting events like cut-a-thons and bake sales. Many stylists also donate their own time, visiting member hospitals to cut children's hair.

N.C. Public Health Officials Investigating Food-Borne Disease Outbreak in Fayetteville
Fayetteville, N.C. - State and local public health officials are cautioning anyone who may have visited the Holiday Inn Bordeaux and Conference Centre restaurants at 1707 Owen Drive in Fayetteville, North Carolina since May 1 that they may have been exposed to Salmonella at the hotel or restaurants. As of May 17, health officials are aware of 51 persons who were exposed at the hotel or its restaurants and subsequently experienced symptoms consistent with Salmonella infection (described below). Five individuals have been hospitalized as a result of this outbreak. Food served at the hotel may have been from two restaurants, the All American Sports Bar and Grill and the Cafe Bordeaux, or from a banquet kitchen or room service.
