Thursday, March 18, 2010 —
Saturday, at approximately midnight, is the official first day of spring for 2010, and Spring is definitely in the air as we will be seeing temperatures this weekend creeping ever closer to the 70 degree mark.
This is the time of year when homeowners begin to shake the cobwebs off from the fall and winter months and do a little Spring cleaning. It is also the time of year when we begin to see more and more trees and flowers begin to bloom. The earth is coming alive again after several months of hibernation, and what a cold few months that has been.
So get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine and warm weather because it won’t be long before the humidity returns.

Building forts
When I was a child, I considered building forts to be one of the most thrilling aspects of creative play.
The earliest “forts” I remember were rings of stuffed animals, dolls and pillows that surrounded me when I went to sleep at night. Mom and Dad would build these forts with me and my siblings at night to keep us from being scared of monsters under the bed or in the closet. They offered a sense of security and became a fun bedtime ritual. -
