The dreaded phrase many parents have been waiting for all summer most likely occurred on Wednesday morning.
“I don’t want to go to school.”
Hopefully the back-to-school blues were a little less intense this morning.
Yes, another school year has begun in Stanly County, so that means students are back to the books and back to the roads. This means many of us have to be prepared as well.
Since the roads will be fuller with parents picking up children, school buses transporting youth and students hurriedly leaving at the end of the day, be alert on our roads. This goes for mornings as well.
We don’t enjoy reporting on tragedies happening, especially when it comes to school kids. So adults, watch out for children. Children, watch out for adults.
We do look forward to reporting on the many exciting events planned for the upcoming year at schools throughout the county. While we are not able to make it to every single event, we will make an effort to attend many activities and always welcome submissions of articles and photos for the times when we are unavailable.
Students, study hard, compete intensely and most of all, enjoy the friendships you make during these years.
