Thursday, December 6, 2012 — Quinton Julius Austin, 93, of Stanly County, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Austin was born March 1, 1919, in Stanly County to the late Jacob Archelous Austin and Mary Betty Hill Austin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Geraldine Tucker Austin.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., Saturday, December 8, at First Baptist Church of Locust. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Tommy Ross Jr. officiating; the burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his four daughters, Bonnie Allen and husband Tom of Hillsborough, N.C., Jeannine Austin of Vilseck, Germany, Karen Elliott and husband Blades of High Point, N.C. and Frances Austin and husband Sebastian Parreirinha of Newman, Ga.; one brother, Gatha Austin of Locust, N.C.; one sister, Sarah Cooke of Denver, N.C.; five grandchildren, Danette and Julianne Allen, Camden and Austin Elliott and Chris Eudy; and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Quinton and Evans.
