Thursday, January 17, 2013 — Helen “Karen” Edwards Burleson, 51, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
The memorial service will be at Stanly County Shriners Club, 35781 City Lake Drive, Albemarle, on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 6-9 p.m.
At other times, the family will meet at her brother’s home, Jerry Edwards, 1107 Efird St., Albemarle.
Karen was born on January 16, 1961, to the late James King Edwards and the late Betty Jo Dunkle. She is also preceded in death by a twin brother James Haynes “Buck” Edwards.
She is survived by her loving husband of six years, William “Terry” Burleson of the home; son, Josh Sides and wife Lisa of Albemarle; stepdaughter, Rianne Burleson of Badin; two brothers, Charlie Brown and wife Gail of Michigan and Jerry Edwards and wife Pam of Albemarle; a sister, Lisa Faye Rodgers and husband Ozzie of Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Cathy Edwards of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Keely Sides, Emma Sides, Taylor Thompson and Kendall Chandler; special friends, Donna Ragsdale of Albemarle, Gary Poplin and wife Beverly of Albemarle and Jo Biggers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Manager of Hal’s Restaurant for 12 years, Karen loved her customers dearly.
