Barbara Ellen Smith Lambert, age 80, of Albemarle, N.C., passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
At other times the family will be meeting at her home.
The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Fred Carpenter, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Main Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Barbara was born in Locust, N.C. on April 27, 1932, to the late Ralph Pliney Smith and the late Foy Rachael Glosson Smith. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max Leavern Lambert; and son, Ralph Edwin Lambert.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ellen Snuggs and husband Eric of Albemarle; and two grandchildren, Erica and Erin Snuggs, both of Albemarle.
Mrs. Lambert was a music teacher for the Stanly County School System and was a faithful member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
