Jim David Lee, 84, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Bethany Woods Nursing Center in Albemarle.
He was born May 30, 1928 in Anson County and was the son of the late Malcom Lee and Minnie Cole Lee.
He was a retired employee of Albemarle Spinning Mill and Still Oil Company.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle and was a veteran of the U.S. Army - Korean Conflict.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Medical Corp from 1950 to 1952.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jim David Lee Jr., a daughter, Linda Kay lee, two brothers, Jason lee and Coleman Lee, and two sisters, Margie Lee Jones and Sara Lee Vanhoy.
He is survived by his wife, Polly Clark Lee, one daughter, Donna Lee Oakes and husband, Jeff of Albemarle, one sister, Pat Lee Laton of Monroe, N.C., two grandchildren, Samy Jay Oakes and Dillon Lane Oakes, and one great-grandchild, Ozzabella Kay Oakes.
There will be no formal services held.
The family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
