Tuesday, February 19, 2013 — James Lewis “Jim” Barbee, age 76, of Oakboro, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends at Barbee’s Grove Baptist Church of Oakboro on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 3-4 p.m.
The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Phillip Smith, will be at Barbee’s Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 4 p.m. Burial will follow at Smith Grove Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Jim was born on May 12, 1936, to the late Lee Barbee and the late Letha Barbee.
Mr. Barbee is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ann Barbee, of the home; a brother, Jack Barbee of Albemarle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
