Mrs. Bobbie T. Barbee, age 84, of 16822 Silver Road, Oakboro, N.C. passed away at 12 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, Concord, N.C.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 2 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. Burial will be in Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro, N.C.
Born June 6, 1926 in Stanly County, N.C. she was the daughter of the late Ann Tucker Rape and stepfather Ward Rape.
She was a graduate of Locust School, a retired employee of Stanly Knitting Mill, Oakboro, N.C. and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Barbee was married to the late Merlin Coolidge Barbee who preceded her in death April 1984. A son, Merlin C. “Butch” Barbee Jr., also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Barbee Beadle and husband Buford of Oakboro, N.C.; one daughter-in-law, Jane B. Osteen of Albemarle, N.C.; two grandchildren, Tammy Barbee Shaver of Albemarle, N.C. and Tangy House of New London, N.C.; and five great-grandchildren, Matthew Austin, Jaime Austin, Tanner House, Laney House and Kynlee Shaver.
Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 4694 N.C. Hwy. 205, Oakboro, N.C. 28129.
