Elsie Sherman Cresswell, 89, of Badin, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Elsie was born on Aug. 8, 1923 in Beverly, New Jersey, to the late Gustav Sherman and the late Martha Sherman. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cresswell; sisters, Marie Rogers, Martha Mick, Gertude Devlin and Margaret Ferenzi; and twin brother William Sherman.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph Eugene Cresswell Jr. and wife Janet of Hazen, N.D., William John Cresswell of the home, and James Richard Cresswell and wife Rebecca of Valley Drive, Badin; grandchildren, J. R. Cresswell Jr. and wife Brooke of Raleigh and John Eric Cresswell and wife Sarah of Matthews and four great-grandsons Jacob, Caden, Noah and Elijah Cresswell.
There will be no formal service, just a celebration of life with family and friends at the home in Badin.
