Monday, February 11, 2013 —
Larry Walter Crump, 66, of Albemarle, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Wednesday night, February 6, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at West Albemarle Baptist Church. Rev. Adam Hatley and Rev. Burley Moore officiated and interment followed in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ansonville. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday evening, February 8, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mr. Crump was born July 27, 1946, in Anson County to the late Emmett Chalbric and Zula Pauline Crump.
He was a 1964 graduate of South Stanly High School and an active member of West Albemarle Baptist Church having served as Deacon and Pre-School Sunday School Director. He was last employed by Norwood Elementary School, where he was loved by all the children. He was an avid golfer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, R.B. Crump and a sister, Luvaide Barbee.
He is survived by his wife, Twinkle Treece Crump of the home; sisters, Rosalind Crump Carpenter of Concord, Arlene Crump Blalock and Sandra Crump Austin, both of Norwood; sisters-in-laws, Cindy Herrin and Darlene Clayton, both of Albemarle; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special companions, Chloe, Pixie, Bear and Joy.
