Hallie Lowder Efird, age 89, of Albemarle, died at 4:25 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, in her home.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle. Pastor Mark Mabry officiated and burial was in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery, Albemarle.
The family received friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the hour of the service.
Born April 10, 1923, in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Reecy Allen Lowder and Lottie Harkey Lowder.
She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and a retired cafeteria worker at Endy School. She was a member of Canton Baptist Church, Albemarle.
Mrs. Efird was married to Price Austin Efird of the home. Other survivors include one son, Joe Efird and wife Karen of Albemarle; one daughter, Dolores Talbert and husband Wayne of Albemarle; two sisters, Claudine Drye of Albemarle and Sue Kosmides of Anaheim, Calif.; one grandson, Michael Furr and wife Tanya; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Furr and Emma Furr.
