Leonard Odell Morris, 87, of Albemarle, passed away early Monday morning, January 21, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Kinney Wallace and Rev. Chris Wallace will officiate and burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mr. Morris was born September 13, 1925, in Montgomery County to the late Albert Shuford and Sarah Morris Morris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry Odell Morris.
He proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of Porter Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Claudine Dennis Morris of the home; son, Gregory Neil Morris of Albemarle; one sister, Martha Lawrence of Sanford; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
