Maureen Hinson Tucker, 82, of Albemarle, passed away, Friday, January 4, 2013, at the home of her son.
The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 12:30-2 p.m. The service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. At other times the family will meet at the home of her son, Dolan Tucker, 510 Acorn Acres Road, Norwood. Rev. Wayne Richardson will officiate and the burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
Born July 13, 1930, in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William Taft Hinson and the late Mildred Hinson Parker. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Tucker in 2003, and her son, Michael Kevin Tucker.
She is survived by her son, Dolan Tucker and wife Jo of Norwood; grandchildren, Glenn D. Tucker Jr. “Dan” and wife Susan and Alan Kent Tucker and wife Christi, all of Albemarle; great-grandchildren, Hank Tucker, Kevin Tucker, Luke Tucker and Rebecca Lynn Tucker.
Mrs. Tucker was a homemaker and was active in the Nobels, the Rainbow Girls and the Order of the Eastern Star. She also served at Oak Grove Baptist Church in various capacities.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001 or Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1002 Wiscassett St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
