Mrs. Griep, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her residence.
She was born November 20, 1939, in Concord, N.C., the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wall. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Sue Overcash and Alice Benton.
Mrs. Griep was employed by Registry Hotel as an accountant for many years. Tina loved to let her creative side show throughout her life and had a passion for cooking that led to owning a restaurant, Tina’s Gourmet Shoppe in Charlotte. She enjoyed painting, sewing, dancing and cherished spending time in the company of her family and close friends.
Surviving are her loving husband, John Griep; children, Greg Rutledge, Jody Jordan and husband Paul, Brad Griep and wife Kim, Kristi Pinkston and Gwen Dewaele; grandchildren, Tasha Rutledge, April Rutledge, Tina Jordan, Mallery Saverino, Nikki Griep, Karlee Griep, Kyle Griep, Kallie Griep, Kassidy Griep, John Pinkston, Mark Pinkston and Paige Dewaele; great-grandchildren, Chase Saverino, Kolbie Griep, Daniel Gast, Blake Gast and Scotty Pasour; siblings, Johnny Wall and wife Jeri and Jo Ann Lambert; and canine companion, Little Girl.
A funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
Interment followed in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Community Home Care and Hospice, nurse, Cathy Patterson and friends Alex and Sabrina for their tremendous and wonderful care of Tina.
