Mrs. Virginia Faye Dean Medley, 56, of New London, a friend to everyone, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 19, 2012 at the Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Union Chapel AME Zion Church in Albemarle, with burial at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service time.
Mrs. Medley was born October 4, 1956, in Anson County to the late Annie Dean Freeman and Labonnie Melton.
Mrs. Medley attended Spirit and Truth Church in Albemarle.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Medley Sr.; sons, Deprus Medley, Albemarle; John W. (Tasha) Medley Jr.; Concord; daughter, Faith (Matthew) McSwain, Albemarle; godsons, JC Benjamin, New London, LaCario Sellers, Charlotte, and Stepfon Sellers, of the home; sister, Pamela Spencer, Charlotte; grandchildren, Dajha Medley, Elijah McSwain, Isiah Medley, Anya McSwain, all of Albemarle; father and mother-in-law, John T. and Minnie Medley, New London; and best friend, Emily Turner, Albemarle.
