Bertha Mae Dennis Dennis, 88, of Albemarle, passed away, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her home.
The family received friends from 2-3:30 p.m. March 2, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle.
At other times the family will meet at her home. A graveside service was at Palestine Cemetery at 4 p.m. March 2. Rev. David Nolan and Rev. Darrell Thompson will officiate.
Born April 12, 1924 in Stanly County, she is the daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin Dennis and the late Nezzie Hudson Dennis.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Littleton Dennis in 2000; granddaughter, Misti Anne Guinn; brother, Crawford Dennis; and sisters, Ruby Cauble and Jeanette Dennis.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Dean Dennis, of Albemarle; daughters, Nancy Kirk and husband Glenn of Concord, Nezzie “Etta” Hopkins and husband Rick of New London, Patricia Dennis of Albemarle, Virginia Hopkins of Albemarle, Jane Hargett and husband David of New London; and sisters, Aline Huneycutt and Lucille Dennis; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Bertha loved her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Dennis family.
