Doris Faye Little Burgess, 72, of Stanly County, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012.
The family received friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Rod Denny and Rev. Kinney Wallace, will be at Mineral Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 4 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
At other times, the family will meet at her home.
Mrs. Burgess was born on January 8, 1940, in Stanly County, to the late Dee and Beulah Little. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, George and Tom Little; and one sister, Pat Poole.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bobby Brooks Burgess: one son, Steve Burgess and wife Susan of Oakboro; one daughter, Wanda Simpson of Oakboro; five grandchildren, Dana Simpson, Deidra Bunn, Andrew Burgess, Brian Burgess and Cooper Burgess; six great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ashton, Connor, Ephraim, Jeriah and Kaylie; four brothers, Kenneth Little of Aquadale, Jack Little, Richard Little and Max Little, all of Albemarle; and one sister, Kathleen McIntyre of Norwood.
Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Burgess family.
